Season Overview

The 2007–08 international season was an important rebuilding period for the Costa Rica national football team following a disappointing 2006 FIFA World Cup campaign. With a new generation beginning to emerge, Costa Rica shifted its focus toward qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup while aiming to re-establish itself as one of CONCACAF’s leading nations.

Managed by Hernán Medford, Costa Rica spent much of 2007 competing in international friendlies and preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualification cycle.
